If you are planning to purchase an SUV that is efficient to its peak, practical, and good-looking, it may so happen that you are exactly at that point where most of your friends have got stuck.
That is what generally happens with most of you. First, you pick up a range of cars within your budget and desire. And then, you are absolutely clueless about which one to choose and which one to discard.
Well, here is a compiled comparison of Tata Nexon versus Ford Ecosport versus Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
Hope you benefit from this comparative analysis and get the best choice of car.
When your main focus is to look for some compact SUVs, the two major models are Ford Ecosport and Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza. However, there lies a solid battle between these two models.
So, why not introduce a third one and make things better! Therefore, the third and the final car in this comparative analysis is the Tata Nexon. With this model, Tata first launched their SUV. Let’s take a look as in how they compete with each other in different aspects.
Ford has a heavy front end which makes it suitable for a significant facelift of the midlife. This front end has been borrowed from the global SUV model. The Ecosport is much flamboyant that before.
It has a large trapezoidal grille attached with a blue oval logo. What adds more to the aggressiveness to the model are its headlights which have been redesigned.
Another noticeable change in this Ford model is the wheel that measures to 17 inches. The wheel does not touch the rear end. Its road presence too is superb.
Speaking of the factor of road presence, whenever a Nexon passes, we all are bound to turn our heads and look what passed by. This is the power of Nexon.
It is quirky with arches, chunky tyres, a grey roof, and trim pieces in ceramic white shade. Genuinely, the Nexon is a model that is sure to stand out from the crowd.
Along with these two car models, the Vitara Brezza is rather simple and plain. This model may be safe, absolutely proportionate. But this model lacks the wow factor. There is not the required appeal that Ecosport and Nexon has.
Let’s start off with the Nexon. The great ambience inside is created by the cabin. The overly large windows allow a lot of light to enter. The dashboard although is less generic, has a soothing look with the light grey trims.
As a whole, the cabin has a good ambience. Its negative aspects are the storage space that it offers is extremely narrow. Also, the oddly arranged control stalks make a fuss.
Compared to this, the Brezza has a black interior is very much trendy. However, the design of the dashboard may appear old school to some. But that can be adjusted. The whole model is simple.
But then again, where you expect the control models to be are very conventional. Further, Brezza is definitely lighter in size than the other two. Its in-built interior too has some control features.
Coming to the newcomer, the Ford holds the view that gone are the days of all-black car models. Ford has come up with a fully new design that none can expect. In Ford, there are no buttons on its curvy centre.
The cabin is a mixture of grey, silver and black materials thereby appearing somewhat classy and unique than the other two. Regarding the finish, quality and fit, the switchgear of the Ford appears to be more solid than the remaining two.
Also, the company of Ford has claimed this model to be the longest lasting of all other models. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
When your main focus is visibility, Brezza stands first of all. Your seating arrangements inside are such that almost everything is made visible from outside. Also, the seats and the whole inner section appears so shiny!
Compared to this, navigating Nexon is a bit difficult because of its broad pillars of the A and C points and the extremely tiny rear glass which makes no sense most of the time.
Now, Ecosport Ford is the one with the least amount of visibility. It accounts to tiny rear glass, a high set dash and very broad A-pillars. Amidst all these shortcomings, a ray of hope that Ford shows to all its customers is the soft cushioning in the front seat row.
Also, it offers pretty good lateral support. However, Brezza is denounced for its flat seats.
Maruti has a very basic kind of infotainment display in its complete cabin. However, it is suggested that you do not underestimate it by judging its looks.
After all, all that glitters is not gold! Its display panel is very crispy and performs all the functions that it is supposed to do. Its Bluetooth connectivity is very active. The camera in the rear view is clear and bright as well.
Coming to Nexon, while its inner display looks very modern, better powers of computing could be used to impart a better look. If you consider its competitors, Nexon lacks the smoothness that is existent in the others. However, its strength is its 8- speaker system which delivers brilliant sound quality.
To set a competition for the rest of the SUV’s, the Ecosport has featured an 8-inch display panel. Its fluidity and functionality is nothing less in compared to its rivals. Browsing through its menus is a child’s play. The display is very much user-friendly.
Truly, Ford has created a mark in this industry that is almost unbeatable. Another noteworthy feature in Ford that needs special mention is its 6 airbags, leather seats, and puddle lamps.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has only one engine option in his line-up. The Brezza gets the tried and tested 1.3-liter 1,248cc 4 cylinders DOHC DDiS 200 diesel engine which produces a healthy 88bhp of power at 4,000rpm and the 200nm of torque at 1,750rpm.

The Tata Motors offers Nexon with two engines one is a petrol engine and the other one is a diesel engine. The petrol is a 1.2-litre 1,198cc turbocharged revotron petrol engine that makes a 110bhp of power at 5,000rpm and the 170nm of torque at 1,750rpm-4,000rpm.

But on the other hand, Ford India has offered the Ecosport with not one, not two but three engine options. The Ford Ecosport comes with a two petrol engine options and one diesel engine option.
The 1.5-litre 1,497cc 3 cylinders TI-VCT dragon petrol engine produces a maximum 123bhp of power at 6,500rpm and the 150nm of torque at 4,500rpm.
The 1.5-litre dragon petrol engine comes with a two gearbox options one being 5-speed manual transmission and the other one 6-speed automatic transmission.
The 5-speed manual transmission Ford Ecosport gives the 17km/l mileage and the 6-speed automatic transmission gives the mileage of 14.8km/l.
The 1.0-litre 999cc 3 inline cylinders ecoboost petrol engine which makes a healthy 125bhp of power at 6,000rpm and the 170nm of torque at 1,500rpm-4,500rpm. This engine is mated to a 6 speed manual transmission and only available on the Ford Ecosport S variant. The 1.0-litre ecoboost engine gives the mileage of 18.1km/l.
The third and the last one is a 1.5-litre 1,498cc 4 cylinders TDCi diesel engine which makes a healthy 100bhp of maximum power at 3,750rpm and the 205nm of torque at the 1,750rpm-3,250rpm.
The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and gives the mileage of 24km/l.
