Mahindra Rise launch the much-awaited SUV the Mahindra Alturas G4 in India. The Alturas G4 launched at a price of INR 26.95 (ex-showroom) lakh for the 2WD variant and the INR 29.95 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec 4WD variant.

This will be the Mahindra’s flagship SUV which will sit above the XUV500 SUV. The Mahindra Alturas G4 will be the first premium SUV from the company and the biggest one yet.

The Mahindra Alturas G4 use the ladder-frame chassis and has a larger dimension than the previous generation Ssangyong Rexton. The Alturas G4 measures at 4,850mm at length, the width is 1,960mm and the height is 1,825mm and has a massive 2,865mm of wheelbase.

The ground clearance also saw the saw the increase which is 244mm. The Mahindra Alturas G4 is going to be head to head with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Skoda Kodiaq.

The features list for the Mahindra Alturas G4 includes the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

There’s also a 7-inch multi-information display, a 360-degree camera, quilted Nappa leather seats, ventilated front seats with 8-way electrical height adjustment and a memory function, electronic parking brake, HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights, electronic sunroof, mood lighting, dual-zone fully automatic climate control and the powered tailgate.

On the safety front, the Mahindra Alturas G4 offered with 9 airbags (including side, curtain and driver knee airbags), Electronic Stability Program, Active Rollover Program, Brake Assist System, Traction Control. Electronic Braking Distribution, Anti-Lock Braking System, Hill Descent Control and Ultra High Strength Quad Frame Structure.

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is powered by is a new 2.2 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine which produces 178bhp of power at 4,000rpm and the 420nm of torque at 1,600rpm to 2,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed G-Tronic automatic gearbox sourced from Mercedes Benz.
