Finally, the wait is over after all those teasers and glimpse Hyundai India has launched the all-new Hyundai Santro in India.
The 2018 Hyundai Santro launched with prices starting from 3.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol five-speed manual D-Lite variant to 5.46 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol five-speed manual Asta variant.
Hyundai India also launched two petrol five-speed AMT gearbox variants on the new Hyundai Santro prices starting from 5.19 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol AMT Magna variant and the 5.48 lakh (ex-showroom) for the AMT Sportz variant.
CNG variants are also available to choose from the all-new Hyundai Santro lineup prices starting from 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom) for the CNG Magna variant and the 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the CNG Sportz variant.
The Hyundai Santro easily the most popular car from the Hyundai India stable and that this is the very first car that Hyundai India first launched in September 1998 in India 20 years ago that marked their entry into the Indian market.
Hyundai India is hoping to taste the same success that the old Hyundai Santro created.
The all-new Hyundai Santro is powered by the heavily re-engineered version of the 1.1 litres four-cylinder epsilon petrol engine that powered the old generation Hyundai Santro that produces 69bhp of power and 99nm of torque.
This new generation Hyundai Santro gets the same tall boy design that we adore on the old generation Hyundai Santro.
You also get the CNG option on the new Hyundai Santro with factory fitted CNG kit. The CNG variant produces healthy 58bhp and 84nm of torque which is down from the petrol variant.
The all-new Hyundai Santro’s claimed top speed is 150 kph and claimed fuel economy of 20.3 kmpl. Hyundai India launched the all-new Hyundai Santro with seven exterior colours silver, grey, white, blue, beige, red and green.
The all-new Hyundai Santro’s suspension settings are taken care of by McPherson struts at the front and the torsion beams at the rear.
Hyundai India doesn’t offer alloy wheels on the new Santro instead it gets 13-inch steel wheels wrapped in 155/80 section tyres on the lower variants and the 14-inch steel wheels shod with 165/70 section tyres at the higher variants.
Hyundai Santro is based on all new platform. The new Hyundai Santro is more wider at 1645mm and taller 1560mm than it’s competitors, while the new Hyundai Santro is shortest in length at 3610mm.
Inside the cabin, all variants get beige and black dual tone dashboard. The new Santro is well equipped with the 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto on top spec Asta variant, it also has a reverse camera.
There’s also a rear air conditioning vents which are a segment first.
The new Hyundai Santro also comes with ABS and EBD with driver side airbag as standard and the higher variant also gets a passenger side airbag.
All in all the new Hyundai Santro comes with a great package to compete in this segment.
