The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin motorcycle has been revealed by the British bike maker. Triumph Motorcycles brings back the original name which was used for the 1938 legendary Speed Twin parallel twin engine motorcycle.
The all-new Triumph Bonneville Speed Twin is a blend of a premium retro modern classic with the roadster performance. The Speed Twin is a mixture of Triumph Thruxton, Street Twin and the Bonneville T120 which gets design inspirations from all these bikes.
Triumph Speed Twin gets the heart from the Triumph Thruxton which is the 1,200cc Bonneville twin engine.
The 1,200cc liquid cooled 8 valves 270-degree crank angle parallel twin engine produces a healthy 96bhp (72kw) of power at the 6,750rpm and the 112nm (82.6 ft-lbs) of torque at the 4,950rpm.
The 1,200cc Bonneville twin engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with the wet multi-plate assist clutch.
The Bonneville twin-engine also gets the Multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection and the Brushed 2 into 2 exhaust system with the twin brushed silencers.
The chassis of the Triumph Speed Twin is a tubular steel with the aluminum cradle and the swing-arm is twin-sided aluminium.
The front and the rear wheels are the lightweight 7-spoke cast aluminium alloys with the 17×3.5inch (front) and the 17×5.0inch (rear).
Both the tyres come with the high-spec Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 with the front tyre size is a 120/70 ZR17 and the rear has the 160/60 ZR17
The Triumph Speed Twin suspensions equipped with the 41mm cartridge forks at the front and the twin shocks with the adjustable preload setting at the rear.
The Speed Twin’s braking power comes from the twin 305mm discs with the Brembo 4-piston fixed calipers and the at the front and the rear single 220mm disc with the Nissin 2-piston floating caliper.
The all-new Triumph Speed Twin features an LCD multi-functional instrument display with the analog speedometer, analog tachometer.
There’s also a gear position indicator, fuel gauge, range-to-empty indication, service indicator, clock, trip computer, scroll and mode buttons on handlebars, heated grip ready, fuel consumption display, traction control status and throttle mode display and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) ready.
The new Speed Twin also features ride by wire technology with the help of Anti-lock Braking System and the switchable traction control which can automatically adjust the throttle delivery if the traction is degraded during your ride.
The Triumph Speed Twin also features three modes with Sport, Road and Rain riding modes with the LED lighting.
The bike also comes equipped with the Torque Assist Clutch for reducing the riders lever use making the motorcycle more comfortable during the long journeys as well as the shorter rides.
The Triumph Speed Twin’s styling also gets the Triumph’s signature 14.5 liter fuel tank with the twin upswept sport silencers and the comfortable bench seat.
You can customize your Triumph Speed Twin with over 80 accessories to choose from this includes Brushed Vance & Hines silencers, Black intake covers, Black pressed sump plate, 64mm LED indicators, Knee pads, Machined headlight bezel, Head bolt cover detailing, Engine embellishers with the Machined footrests, etc..
Triumph Motorcycles did not confirm anything about when will the Indian launch could happen but i think Triumph will launch the Speed Twin by the middle of next year.
